Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In this role, Fisher is responsible for covering everything from NASA's newly-created Space Force to commercial space businesses and the advent space tourism. Kristin was her mother was one of NASA astronauts and a space enthusiast was raised within the space industry. She served for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy during the Biden and Trump Administrations. In her tenure, she reported on the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trials as well as two initiatives to end the corona virus pandemic, and two other administrations' efforts. Kristin was on the road extensively, both with the president and vice-president. The reporter even took a secret trip to Afghanistan along with Donald Trump. Kristin was a fixture in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for more than a decade prior to joining the network. She won an Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS affiliate's single-man reporter. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman helped her establish Field Mouse Films which specialized making documentary-style videos for corporate clients including Uber Hotels and Resorts as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a graduate of journalism at Boston University. Kristin lives with husband, daughter and three-year-old son in Washington, D.C.
